While at Material agency, I worked with Standard Life's 'Helping Hand' team who are a multi award winning customer care team, who look after their customers who find themselves in extra-ordinary situations such a a terminal illness diagnosis, mental health issues etc.
They had identified a need to be able to show this unique situation, from the perspectives of both a customer and their call agents to highlight the pressures and critical importance of their service.
/// Virtual Reality
I designed a concept in which the user is sat at a real round table within the Standard Life HQ in Edinburgh. The user then puts on the Meta Quest headset and is then taken to a virtual version of the room they are in. This then transitions into a digital world where we prime them on the experience ahead.
We then transport them into a hybrid environment. On one side they can see a customers flat, on the other they see the call centre. An agent and customer then engage in conversation – a reconstruction of a real traumatic event – they are both positioned on a side of the same table the user is at, who is a voyeur into the conversation.
Due to the nature of the experience content, i cannot post it here for general viewing, I am happy to demo the experience for anyone considering a similar experience.
